How does it work?
Customers can access the service through the Boots Online Doctor website, where they complete a consultation. Watch the video below to find out how it works.
What happens next?
- A prescriber reviews the online consultation to assess the customer’s suitability for treatment
- The prescriber will contact the customer if more information is required, and no payment will be taken unless a prescription is issued
- If suitable, the medicine will be prescribed for collection from a Boots store.* Home delivery is also available†
- When the customer picks up their treatment, they can talk to the pharmacist about how to use the medicine and ask any questions. If they choose home delivery, there are instructions in the pack and they can come into a Boots pharmacy for advice if needed.

Weight loss medication is not the only part of the story; customers will need to follow a healthy balanced diet and exercise.
Boots Online Doctor provides customers with support for their weight loss journey from a dedicated Lifestyle Medicine Team, made up of a nutritionist and GPs.
The team messages customers regularly to support them during their weight loss journey. They are available to support customers with any queries, including how to manage side effects and tips on eating while taking weight loss medicines.
Customers will also have access to:
- 10 week weight loss programme - each week includes a video and article on a different theme, with advice to put into practice. It’s not just about food; it covers topics such as motivation and metabolism
- Free live weekly webinars covering a wide range of topics including cravings, yo-yo dieting, sleep, everyday stress and more.
