Transition to Digital: enhancing The Professional Standard

I am excited to announce that The Professional Standard is going digital! 

Starting in July 2025, the printed version of The Professional Standard will no longer be delivered to stores and will be replaced with a digital format which will be accessible via MyHub. The Professional Standard podcast will also be discontinued at this time. 

Why the Transition?

The move to a digital version of The Professional Standard is driven by our goal to enhance efficiency, accessibility, and sustainability. The key benefits are:

• Improved accessibility: The digital format will be readily available to all pharmacy team members
• Enhanced efficiency: Digital documentation streamlines the process of recording compliance with the requirement to read The Professional Standard. As with Standard Operating Procedures, pharmacy team members can choose to receive automated notifications to prompt them to read The Professional Standard when it is issued to them
• Sustainability: Reducing the use of paper aligns with our commitment to environmental sustainability. We hope this digital transition will help to decrease our carbon footprint
• Real-time updates: The digital platform allows for immediate release of The Professional Standard, removing any time required for printing and distribution. 

In order to support team members with this move to a digital version of The Professional Standard, the Patient Safety Champions’ letter will no longer be issued – this will allow additional time for team members to focus on the new format of The Professional Standard.
