Get active - P8B

Explores different types of exercise, the importance of a balanced diet when exercising and queries about strains and sprains.

Inactivity is described by the Department of Health as a “silent killer”.1 Evidence is emerging that sedentary behaviour, such as sitting watching TV or at a computer, using the car for short journeys or lying down for long periods, is bad for your health. This type of behaviour is thought to increase the risk of developing chronic diseases, such as heart disease, stroke and type 2 diabetes, as well as weight gain and obesity.1

After completing this module you will:

  • Be able to confidently recommend suitable types of exercise
  • Understand the importance of a balanced diet when exercising
  • Know how to deal with queries about strains and sprains.
